Hi I just wanted to let everyone know that my kaks favourite thing in her cage...or indeed anywhere..is her coconut. I just went and bought one from the supermarket, I used a small saw to cut a square out of it and dug into the holes at the top, I thredded a couple of chains through the holes and hung it from the roof of her cage. I left the coconut flesh inside so that she could pick at it but obviously had to hollow it out after several days before it went mouldy. She spends ages climbing all over it, picking off the strands and putting stuff inside of it. i68.photobucket.com/albums/i5/Orangepuku/Puku/IMG_0093.jpgExcuse the blurriness of the photo (and the mess in the background!!! hehe) Just thought all you kak owners would like to know : )

they just love holes dont they. I put a box in the cage, and they loved going in and out.

That looks like a neat little home orange, would these be good as nesting homes? and are they good for loris? Galahs? and greencheeks?

Hi Judy, I don't think they are any good as nesting homes for kaks at least...too small! Puku doesn't actually get her whole body in...she steps in but there isnt enough room for her to turn around in so she steps back out. She uses it more as a little cupboard : ) she just puts stuff in there and takes it out. Its the strands all over it and climbing all over that she really loves.

She is a cutie...although she bit me today!! I was just sitting there with my hand in the cage as I do every day, which I was advised to do on the kak forum. She usually climbs on my hand briefly has a lick and hops off but today I was watching the telly and she came over and bit my hand hard and just held on for a few secs, I didn't jerk back but said 'ow', I was startled and couldn't help it! She drew a little blood even! Heaven knows why she did it, just testing to see what happens I guess???
