Well if you don't know already Ginge and I are getting a couple of Kaks from Sal and Jon!! I have been bothering them all day - as you will see by Sal's latest addition to her family! So anyway - been round to theirs to see the babies. Jon ( ) has taken them out to be hand-reared (no bites for me, hopefully). Here is mum - Kiki Here is dad - Kiwi Can you guess which colour & sex Baby1 will be (the oldest) Can you guess which colour & sex Baby2 will be (the youngest) Picture of both babies And just because it is cute and rather funny, Mum and both babies I should be getting an update on Thursday - invited myself round to Sal's ! So more pictures then!

You'll be glad to know that they took to feeding from the spoon straight away. Which is just as well seeing ive spent £30 on rearing food...

I think they'll both be major green with yellow pied feathers and sex will be one of each. I've heard from 3 different breeders I've bought kaks from, the hand raised birds bite more than the parent reared ones. My Matt & Kath were hand raised and bite like #$%@&! but the parent raised ones only nibble me - except a darn Yellow Crown hen yesterday ignored the food in my hand & tried to take a chunk out of my arm!!! Darn that hurt!!

The little one is going to have more yellow, than green. A few green tail feathers and a green cape over his/her shoulders....
The birds ive reared before where nice as pie Karen, i supose its all down to the temprement of the birds in the end..

Looks like you will have some nice pieds there. If I am right with the pied side..Dads the pied..You can see that in his feet. These two should be girls...Unless the mother can be spilt to pied...

i cant speak for the breeders you got yours from karen or explain the reasons behind why they are "whingy birds" but all ours that we have hand reared have been very happy, effectionate, quiet and placid birds

I have every faith in Jon & Sal to give us lovely birds. All of theirs are superstars!!!

maybe its because our reared birds come from pet birds to start with and not aviary birds? its a long shot but it might be an explanation?

Sounds like a better explanation than what I've come up with (they are half-wit inbreds!)
