I just thought I would let everyone know the good news. Yesterday I got some advice which has made a huge difference to my little baby Puku!
I was beginning to think that she wouldn't make it, she just was getting no better. Then yesterday Steps on the kak site told me to put a few drops of cider vinegar into her water and veggies. I thought it sounded a bit strange but I trust his advice and so I made Mr O go out first thing (I'm still pretty sick) and get some. I did as I was told and this evening there is a massive improvement!!!! She is now talking to the others after being silent for days, she is no longer walking on her legs and generally looking much much better. I am going to see how she is by morning and you never know she might be ready to go back in with her boys!!! I am so happy!! The drinks are on me.... ;D ;D ;D ;D
Yes he did... its all about the pH of the blood... its not really a treatment, its more to help recovery. When they are sick the blood pH changes and its just to get it back to normal again. He explains it properly in a reply to my original post on the kak site here www.kakariki.net/ftopicp-4356.html I am just amazed at the difference it has made to her!
Can't believe I forgot to mention the Apple Cider Vinegar to you! *smacks hand* as Steps also told me about it when my hens were getting ill around breeding age. He also says to always do it - not just when they are sick as it helps prevent illness in kaks (& people). In another of his posts somewhere he said his kids hardly ever had a sick day.
