Skits, the rainbow lorikeet, has laid an egg. Fingers crossed that it's fertile. The last time I saw any naughty behaviour, Studley was presenting to Skits Poor lad, I really hope he got it right She's not sitting yet, but I expect another egg before she sits big time. It's a shame I had to move her cage today, I hope it hasn't upset her too much. Everyone pray for baby lorikeets, please

I hope it is fertile Lin! This is very eggsciting news! I'm sure Billspets can answer any questions you have about them breeding.

I hope so too! Still not sitting, but still scratching at the ground - her usual nesting behaviour, so, trusting that Studley read the instruction manual I put in for him #cheesy#, should hear the pitter patter of little feet in a few weeks #cheesy#

Don't worry if she doesn't sit straight away. Eggs can last unbrooded for a number of days, the problem arises if she starts to brood then hops off them.
