1/2 lb dates 1/2 lb dried apricots 1/2 lb dried figs 1/2 lb mixed dried fruit 2 cups chopped walnuts 1/2 cup cranberry & raisin mix 1 tsp sesame seeds or hulled buckwheat
Put dates, figs, walnuts, apricots, mixed dried fruit, raisins, & cranberries together in a food grinder. Grind. Scoop out and shape into small balls. Roll in seeds, buckwheat, or finely chopped nuts. Refrigerate portions until ready to feed.
Optional: try mixed nuts or pistachio nuts in place of walnuts.
This recipe is very tasty, but messy to make. I keep a batch in the refrigerator and take out what I need, rolling it eather seeds or chopped nuts.
