Apart from budgies i also keep parrotlets, at the moment, well as of yesterday i have two. a hen and boy this is squeak, a normal green this is squeak with pip who sadly died two weeks ago (pip was a blue ino) and this is the hen i bought yesterday, no name as yet, and she is a pastel blue

they are lovely birds ,and i feel are very underrated in the uk, they make great companion parrots and are such fun to have they are constantly on the move, unless their napping or eating.

Oh Kevin they are adorable, so sorry to hear about Pip she was beautiful . It would be tempting to offer the name Angel for your new hen as she is white, so has angel wings ;D Billie

They are gorgoeus. I have to say I have never seen them in Australia & don't even know if they are available here. What is it with the second colour on the back of their heads? Is it a distinctive feature of Parrotlets? Why are they called Parrotlets anyway?

hi Karen, sorry to say but as far as i know there are no parrotlets in aus, and due to your import bans never will be. the second colour on the back of the head is part of their colouring, it is just more defined on the male than on the female, parrotlets are whats known as sexually dimorphic, meaning there is a distinct difference between the male and female, in parrotlets this is in their colouring. if you can find buuzbees parrotlets you can see the colour difference between the two.
their real name is Forpus coelestis but is more commonly known as the celestial parrotlet (parrotlet = small parrot)
