Well guys, plans have changed "again, arrggghhhh". Im going nuts.
We spoke more with the guy up in bundy about the bird, and we worked out that the bird isnt the right one for us, well his anyways, as the age was 10 years old. I spoke to andrew and said I want a bub as I know he will bond with the family and grow up with the family. Being an elder bird Im not sure whether he will be great with us when we get him home, or wether he will turn on us, as they can get a nasty streak. So after alot of umming and arring on the situation, we decided against this one and to go for a younger male.
We put an add in petlink and got a number of responses which seem genuin enough, as you have to be careful they are not scams, specially when your spending so much money. Anyways we have spoke with a breeder in bendigo-victoria. and he has a 6 week old bub at the moment, and more on the way. Have I hit the jackpot!!!!! He knows what he is talking about, cause he was on about all the sub-species of the blacks. I want a magnifucus redtail, which is a male black, as they are the bigger birds. The females are the prettier ones with spots. There is also another breed called the samurai I think but they are the smaller version of the blacks.
The guy is prepared to have him vet checked and dna'd for us and will give us the vets phone number so we can ring and check before we have the bird freighted up our way. He will be 3 hours on a plane and will pick the little guy up from the airport. He is not ready yet, the breeder wont hand him over till he is fully weened which is another positive. Cause I was a bit worried on that side of things.
AArrgghhh guys this is so hard, I didnt think it would be such mind boggling to get a bird freighted up. I guess you have to be careful these days.
Anyways will keep you posted.
