i am not having luck with baby irn's 3 have died in the nest i have one pore sole left and he has a sore toe that i think is starting to get infected because starting to swell. does anyone know if there is anything i can do for it?

Have you got a vet nearby, how old are the bubs? Maybe you need to keep the bub away from the nest to save it from further infection and try and keep the wound clean till you can get it to the vet. Are you able to handfeed the bub?

only 3 days old have started to put foot in mild salt water our we dont have many bird vets only availible certain days cant raise it till 3 weeks i dont have a brooder hope it makes it.

I would do as Judy said, maybe its something to do with one of the parents that you are losing them, or another jealous female perhpas? not sure just an idea, but i would defo remove from the nest and give it a chance by handrearing. Good luck keep us posted

sadly he didnt make it the parents started to feed it but the infection spread to quick rang the vet in the afternoon made a appointment for the next morning went to get them out to take them and and he wasnt hardly moving i brought him in and could do nothing to help am going to get a diseas test done on the hen to rule out anything

aww im so very sorry to read this, you did all you could, i think you are doing the right thing getting the hen tested, so nothing spreads to any other of your birds.

thankyou i have another hen sitting eggs fingers crossed hopefully due to hatch in about a week the weather here isnt helping much four seasons in a day.

good news one hatched today so far so good. I hope to handrear them when they are three weeks i hope they are as easy as kakarikis to rear.
