I got Ringo the Lutino Ringneck today from Pollyparrot on "that forum" Forum. Thanks Vicki!! He is a rescue and I believe he was mistreated, I believe his previous owner hit him as he really does not like hands. His previous owner also did a savage wing clip & I am really hoping they grow back. He really is a sweet bird, he just needs to know someone loves him. My mum & I really like him heaps & think once he trusts us he is going to be a really sweet & loving bird. I don't know the sex of this bird - I don't even know his age, we are just calling Ringo "him" for now. My mum named him Ringo & I think it's a great name. Note: 2 seconds after I took this photo he bit me! He might not like hands but as soon as I offered him my upper arm which was covered by my shirt sleeve he clambered up and quickly settled onto my shoulder. He likes to chew hair too! But hey, what bird doesn't? I know he is the one with trust issues but after 5 minutes of him on my shoulder chewing my hair I just got too nervous & put him back in his cage - which he was not happy about!

He is gorgeous. I know that feeling with Noo when he is sat on my shoulder when he is hormonal in a split second he can have taken a chunk out of my cheek hehe. I dont blame you being wary.

Any way to tell the age? If over about 18 months your he is a she! Whatever, absolutely adorable, and ringnecks are very gentle - they would rather get out of your way than bite. Peanuts in their shell, and milk arrowroot biscuits should make you irresistable!

i think you,r he is a she i have an identical Indian ring neck and she is female if she was a male she would have a red ring round her neck. my baby also had a savage wing clip which have taken weeks to heal, some people just don't think, i would advise that you try to keep stress to a minimum my bird took a very nasty turn for the worst a couple of weeks after we got her and we very nearly lost her. good luck, they are gorgeous birds i,m glad she has a good home now

Oh Karen What a beautiful bird, how could anyone be unkind to such a lovely creature . I hate it when birds have their wings clipped the whole idea appauls me. Hit a bird I'll hit them HARD!! I agree the best way to a birds heart is through bribary be that food or toys. They are all 3 year old in feathers at heart and its all about the attention in the end Hope he/she settles in ok. Hugs Billie xx

Ringo died last year. I had a dna test dna test done to confirm female. I think she had been handraised but left to "go wild".

Oh Karen I'm so so sorry, I feel awful now , I didn't notice the date on this post I was just loving the wonderful pictures. Ringo was still a beautiful girl, and at least knew love and care when she lived with you. Hugs Billie xxxx
