Howdie everything i read online on housing bourkes is on the aviary. do they like to have toys in their cage like budgies?

Yes, they like toys although they don't play quite as much as budgies. Their most active times are dawn & dusk.

excellent, i have their cage all set up & ready for them
i read they are really active in the dawn & dusk, and reffered to as the "night parrot"

Perhaps the gentlest of all the parakeet family, Bourke's parakeets also differ dramatically from the parakeet norm when it comes to cover. It's easy to distinguish a Bourke's parakeet from the rest of the species as a result of the pink, black and grey plumage of the bird.
This small bird originates from Australia and gets its name from General Sir Richard Bourke, the Governor of New South Wales from 1831-1837. Bourke's parakeets generally grow to around 20cm long and weighs roughly 45g. Birds can start breeding from around 8-12 months of age, and the average lifespan of this parakeet is between 10 and 15 years.
