I turned around and there appear to be two new feathery faces in my aviary I haven't actually been naughty though (honestly!) - they are two elderly budgies (approx 7 or 8ish) who's Mummy is going overseas for about 6 months and asked if I would be able to adopt them Well, what could I say They are very sweet and very attached to each other which is adorable. Unfortunately they can't fly very well as they have never had the opportunity in the past. I've made a little assault course of perches to help them climb though, and they are currently sitting on the highest perch of the aviary Sadly the female has a rather large growth on her tummy, and looks like she's heavily pregnant - it doesn't seem to give her any pain though (and I'm told that she's had it for years ), so I probably won't mess with her. At her age the last thing that she wants to be dealing with is vets and surgery, so as long as she's comfortable and happy I'll just keep an eye on her. Poor wee thing does look quite funny on a perch though 'cos her belly hangs over the edge The male is a lovely vibrant green colour with a yellow face, and the female is blue and white - will post pics as soon as I remember to buy new batteries for my camera Looking for name ideas too gang and they don't appear to have any

congrats! ore birdies...i got some catching up to do.....>>> dashes off towards Fareham my friend had a budgie and they put the perch too high in the cage, he had a growth like that for years and they had no idea how. Well one day , they changed his cage around and slowly it went away. He was a well loved little guy, who loved his ball so much he could be let for a fly outdoors. Always came back for his bell. good luck with your feathery pensioners

Love it Scully They are officially Victoria and Albert - really suits them too I think her growth is a fatty tumour, and I'm sure it's been caused by them being in a very small cage for the first few years of their lives - sadly they were never lucky enough to have any free flying time I think they've actually had more exerscise in the last 24 hours than they've had in their whole lives She doesn't seem to be in any pain, and is really alert, so I'll just keep a beady on her at the moment - who knows a bit of exercise might even improve it for her. They seem to have settled in quite nicely though, and love the really high perches! Very brave for two birdies who are pants at flying
