Well, they both need to be at least 12 months old first. The thing with budgies - they don't need help to get into breeding condition! They will decide when they are ready. My Boris had a clutch in May & since 2-4 weeks ago she has been begging to breed again. But, if they are 12 month old: a nest box - not sure of dimensions but a pet produce store will have budgie ones in stock - even cockatiel boxes are fine, liquid calcium that you can add to their water for 2 days a week to help mum with her calcium reserves, extra fruit & veggies - especially important when chicks hatch, a draft free area to put their cage in - no breeding while in a cage with other birds, extra toys for the male to play with when the hen spends most of her time in the box and ignores dad except to demand food!

Cool, thank's Karen They are in the breeding cage, and there is no draft. The lone female got bitten on foot in the carry box on the way home and i was worried yesterday as she wasn't putting any pressure on the foot. Today she is fine though. She is continously going in and out of the box i think she is just playing but i have no idea.. I put some bedding in there, don't think she is already wanting to breed though as her and Olive boy are still squabbling allittle bit. Although they other two, gezzz.... Talk about birdie love.

I just went out there to top up there food and when i was walking there the male budgie in the bonded pair was holding onto the wire and rubbing his vent all over it.. While chirping and feeding the hen.. What does this mean?

Pic time. Sorry about the quality, they are in the breeding cages and they are scared of the camera. Dark violet hen Again No idea what mutation's these are but they are gorgeous Again Again Also the 2 female's cere are very brown and scabby, does this mean they are in breeding condtion?

firstly, they are gorgeous photos!!! yes the cere being that way does mean they are ready to breed but im afraid budgies arent my speciality so thats as far as my knowledge goes Telmadee might be able to give you some tips as she is an established breeder

A bit of Barnsley water should do the trick Phill, it seems to work for my set of randy beasts lol, I'll post oyu some over lol.
the ceres being brown or scabby is what i believed to say that they were ready, some of mine were only just over 12 months old when they breed, which did worry me that they weren't mature enough, but I colony breed so it was hard to keep them out of the boxes, and they actually turned out to be brilliant mummies. Good luck
