Well it had to happen i guess, Graham had a fall and hurt his leg very badly. It happened 3 days ago, and although i did not see his fall, he cut his leg. For those who are new here, Graham is a 3yr old, budgie that cannot fly. Anyway i managed to stop the bleeding quite quicky as that was my first worry, and now after getting the swelling down by bathing it in witch hazel a few times, with a dab of vet powder after, he's doing very well. Just starting to put weight on it sometimes, and perching again, obviously on one leg. Hes resting in a smaller cage, and hes such a gutsy little guy, still so perky, that yet again, we will just take each day and see how he does. He has his little hen friend Nancy in with him, to keep his spirits up, but i have to let her out now and again, for a fly. hes still feeding and preening her, even on one leg! but i still keep questioning myself about him, and is it fair to him.
I reccomend to anyone to keep a bottle of witch hazel in thier birdie box, its amazing stuff.

Thought id give you an update on Mr Green. I took him to the vets soon after that first post and he has been on antibiotics since. The leg is much better, and hes using it, but it still has a way to go before he comes out the cage hes resting in. My lovely vet bless him, when i took him and we discussed his quality of life, said hes far too perky to consider putting him to sleep. Im glad now, and hes starting to climb in his little cage, but if you saw the leg, you would understand why i did question it. It still has a bit of a hole, and because of that he will have to still stay in the small cage for a while longer.

C'mon Green! We'll have to organise a low key mission for Mr Green so he doesn't get too out of shape on his time off . . .

Get well soon Agent Green, he sure is a fighter is Graham. I'm sure he'll be just fine, especially as he has a lady friend to keep him company.
Give him Billie kisses from me
Billie xx
