I was doing SO well!! I've not been in the confessional for...... well cant remember the last time i was in here lol. But we fell of the wagon
Ok here goes, a neighbour of ours works in a greyhound rescue kennel... you can see where this is going cant you.... She was telling me last week about an 18th month old that they got in and so i asked her why so young as they dont normally retire till 3-5. Well, turns out that he just didnt make the grade, on his first race he wanted to play with the other dogs and wasnt interested in the hare at all and apparently made such a balls up of the entire race that he was disqualified from racing immediately
We made an appointment to see him at the beginning of the week and ended up bringing him home the following day (after getting all his doggy necessities). We have named him Bobby as he was nicknamed "baby" in the kennels for beng the youngest dog there and started to answer to it so needed something similar - he is absolutley adorable!!! He's young enough to learn to play properly and has already made great progress with the children and a few soft toys lol. He is Black with the odd white splash on him. I will take some pictures later and post them up.
Some will remember that i have a soft spot for greyhounds anyway as i homed an ex racer - god knows how many years ago! I was absolutley devasted when she died at the ripe of age of 15, 2 years ago and i thought enough time had passed for me to accept another into the family - im SO glad i did!! he's a breath of fresh air and just the medicine for a happy day
