As you may know, I've been searching for a spangle budgie for a LONG time. Well, go figure, the other day a little spangle flew into my friend's yard. I went over and caught it, and she asked around to see if anyone knew where it came from. No answers, so today it came home with me. It is adorable, looks to be sky blue spangle with yellow factor. Fingers crossed that it does well, I'll get some pictures when it is more settled in. (Promise! ) It is very young, hasn't had it's first molt yet, and is tiny! It has been eating, any tips for making sure it stays hydrated?

Can you give budgies celery? I'm always up for food tips, miine go cray for an orange segment, but not sure if it is safe for them and may be too acidic for a baby.
Lettuce is supposed to be mainly water would that be good for your baby?

Hey all, Star is doing fabulous! No pictures at the moment, as he is still shy. We had a bit of a setback where he started screaming constantly, but with the addition of more toys and a firm hand with the cage cover, he rarely is impolite! He keeps the chattering to a much more enjoyable level. He's about through with his grown-up molt now, and is getting more curious. Yesterday he let me put my hand up to the cage and he came up and was taking a close look at my finger. First time he's ever made contact! He still absolutely adores guitar, so we have fun with that. I'm still working on the food issue, he's a very picky eater and is resolved to eat just seed, despite my best efforts. Guess I'll just keep trying. So anyway, just thought I'd give everyone an update. I'll work on the pics, but I really don't want to give him another reason to be scared of me.
