That's great news about Ivy. Just a thought about the noise, I have 5 budiges who just babble about all day but in the evening when the tv is on, they see it as a challenge and try to out squawk it. The only solution I have found is a heavy blanket over the front and sides of the cage. Once it is dark for them they settle down and go to sleep. I read somewhere that all parots needs at least 12 hours darkness to get enough sleep and you can buy special dark cage covers so that you can 'settle' them even in rooms still in use. If we had the room to put them in a quieter room for the evening we would but their cage is soo big there is no where else it can go. The thick blanket is worth a go to see if darkness would improve things, if it does then go for the propper cage covers. Hope it helps I know what it's like and for all you feel guilty about it you wouldn't be without them would you. Billie ;D

Thanks Billie.
I do put a big black beach towel over her cage at night and that keeps her quiet until she hears everyone's got up! If she's excessively noisy during the day, I'll cover her up until she's quiet again. I think she's slowly getting the message cos she's not nearly as bad now! I think she must be a bit daft as she hasn't learnt any tricks or commands or anything since I got her and it's not through lack of trying!! Lol!

LOL GCC's are anything but daft. Ever tried training a cat? no way! A dog? easy! dogs are dumb and absorb whatever they're taught. Cat's on the other hand are too smart to be taught dumb human tricks. Think of your GCC as a cat.

I think she's smart, but in the wrong sort of way!! LOL!! She knows how to get her own way! And she's learnt how to undo necklace clasps, even with her rubbishy beak. She wrecked my mum's the other day.... oops!!
