My little girl, Sandy Jo, died on Sunday night at 8pm AEST She will be sadly missed... She started getting sick on Friday, I took her out of the cage on Saturday night to give her a cuddle and she threw up all over me... We took her to the vet on Sunday morning and the vet wanted to keep her in overnight for observation... I called the vet on Monday to get an update on how she was going only to find out that she had passed away during the night... I was not impressed that the vet didn't even call me to tell me... It was as though they thought that she was just a bird and she didn't matter She leaves behind her mate Sunny

I'm so sorry to hear about losing Sandy, with lots of love and birdie snuggles fly free little one As for the vet - he needs a smack for not letting you know, I bet you were fuming!

Very sorry to read this, poor baby. Yes, the vet needs a good smack for showing no duty of care. RIP Sandy Jo, will be sadly missed.

Thank you all for your kind messages... Yes I was very upset with the vet... I don't think I will be taking my other birds there again... It is so hard to find vets that are prepared/have the knowledge to treat birds tho... We have kept her in the freezer at the vet until we get back from holiday and move into our new house... I didn't want to bury her at the house we are currently at as we are leaving in about a week...
