Thanks every1 he is a lil sweetie. he's settled in really well and is a lot more lively 2day than yesterday

he lets you handle him after 1 day???my budgie attacks me when i try to put treats in her cage. :'(nice bird though.hes a chunky monkey. ;D

As many members on here will tell you, parent-raised chicks are very hard to tame and require lots of regular time and alot of patience as it can be very slow going to gain their trust.

As many members on here will tell you, parent-raised chicks are very hard to tame and require lots of regular time and allot of patience as it can be very slow going to gain their trust. thanks every1 for all the fab comments, I'm so happy with him . he was parent raised Kiwi lol he was handled on a regular bases by the breeder tho so I'm guessing that's why he's so tame as that pic was taken his 1st nite with us, she did say only one of her hen chicks didn't like bn handled. he comes and climbs up my arm or perches on my hand/finger when I'm cleaning his cage, giving fresh food/water etc so I'm hoping to let him out in the next couple of days should that b OK? x

hes lovely! I love that olive colour in Kaks. As hes on your hand in the cage , he should be fine letting him out. Kaks are quite brave birds anyway, he may come to you quite easy. Keep a raisin handy They also love boxes and tubes,
