Well, Lucy did exceptionally well. She was a very behaved bird -- even when a BIG labrador came in. She just let out a loud squawk to show who was boss and that was that. lol. We did have to give her a rest between getting that overgrown beak trimmed and getting blood work that I insisted on. I just want to make sure that everything is ok with her. Clean bill of health kind of thing. Anyway, she weighed in at 900 grams!! I forgot to ask the vet what the average weight is for them. The vet didn't say she was fat so I'm assuming she's in the normal range.
The vet is running tests for chlamydia PCR, polyoma DNA, pachecos DNA, Chem Panel Vet Test w/Electrol, Packed Cell volume, White blood cell count, and differential cell count. Is this normal for them? I've never had any tests done on a bird before as I knew what the conditions were in the aviaries that I got them from. I also knew the conditions that Lucy came from -- hence my insistance for the tests. Did I over do it with her? We let her ride home on my shoulder -- something that she just loved! I think that helped her calm down some.

Did they put her under a bit to get her beak trimmed?

No they didn't. She just toweled Lucy and dremeled it. Here is a good after shot:

Aww wow, she's beautiful! I have to trim my conures beak regularly. She doesn't seem to mind, she hates it when the vet does it because he wraps her in a towel but she's quite tolerant of me doing it now. Hopefully Lucy will learn to get used to it too if it needs to be trimmed often

She looks great! As Scully said, better to overdo the tests and have peace of mind.
