Maybe we could get him and Robby together for runny races My aunt gave me a budgie YEARS ago and she never let him out of the cage. His belly sat on the floor he was so fat...poor little guy had nothing to do...I fixed him for her. Timmy was so sweet, I miss that little guy. It only took a month of being with me and he could fly and chew my MOMS drapes with my other little guy Robby's belly still has a ways to go before that happens though. He's still a little unsure of himself but his energy level seems a little better each day.

I'm so glad his energy is returning, I've been off the net for 4 days and my other half is sick to death of me telling him I'm concerned about what's going on with Robby Is Robby still plucking? Have you tried putting a feather duster in his cage to see if he'll pluck that rather than himself?

Where would I get a feather duster that doesn't have dyes in it? Every one I've seen are all different colors and I'm afraid to put it in with him. Oh yes he's still plucking. The problem is as the new ones come in they are VERY prickly and he gets really jumpy some days. Yesterday was a bad day for him. I misted him quite a few times to help ease the itch. My biggest concern right now is his blood sugar level but once we get that under control I'm hoping he'll leave some of the feathers in. I will love him no matter what

There are a few sprays for birds to stop itching with moulting, maybe they would help. I was thinking of getting one for Ziggy, as i noticed she was stratching, them shuddering, so i thought she could be itchy.
It makes them jump when you catch a pin does'nt it, while stroking them, i get the odd nip off Biggles ;D

Thanks for the link I'll have a look.
As for sprays, I've tried them all and always find the plain water is the best. I add a little aloe if he seems overly irritated to help him through the tough times.
