Well, i'm not a tiel owner, but hopefully a future one. I do know a bit about them though from my research. It's true, they are one of the easier birds to care for. They aren't terribly loud and messy. Be mindful though that they do like love and attention daily. When you get a bord that's more sociable (like a tiel), they're gonna need more time out of the cage than say... a parakeet. Of course there are those occasional ones that will be louder than the rest, and ones that maybe don't want to be played with as much. That all depends on the bird. Maybe get one that's a bit older and ask the breeder the personality of the tiel.
If I were you I would study up a bit on bird body language. That was one of the problems with Juniper, is that I couldn't tell what he wanted, and what this or that meant.
All in all, I think a tiel would be a great pet. Good luck!

Isn't your mum the best? Now no more nagging about it, just keep up the research and keep on top of your chores so mum knows you are serious and are willing to work for what you want.
