okay these 2 have been givin me sleepless nights LOL! first they clean out the nestbox almost entirely & sleep in it, then the female stays in to the point I fear for her health lol I catch myself sneaking up to watch them to make sure shes eating enough..all seems to be going okay! then she lifts her butt barely enough for us to see 2 eggs!! there could be more, but with them being new additions I dont want to disrupt to much.. they sure do guard well though LOL! my sweeeeeeeeeeet angel female has turned into a lioness! & the male who was the coward has turned into a crazy attack conure LOL here he is getting ready to make a mad dash for the nestbox lol If you look closely you will be able to see the ghost image of the males tail feathers gliding in behind him when he dashed inside LOL! Look at that eyeball! hehe talk about grouchy! LOL! LOL right after this pic was taken they hit my camera lens..poor babies, they dont like the paparazzi I sure hope they hatch! im so anxious for greenies!! Hope you all enjoyed them!

A word of warning - don't disturb too greatly otherwise they could land on the eggs and damage them!!! if they attack the camera then they mean they don't need it. Eggs are quite fragile and any heavy landing on them by parent birds could destroiy the forming embryo.............

oh I know, I try not disturb them aside from feeding & cleaning of the cage area..this was the first time..since the female is such a tight sitter, she was already on the eggs & that was the male..he was ticked at me lol he has always been a bit flighty..but he just pretty much sits next too her in the box, she wont move for nothing..I spoke with the previous owner about them & there habits & she informed me that the males previous mate died of egg binding & this female had lost her mate as well..she will apparently lay eggs on the bottom of the cage even without a nestbox lol...all she did was hang the box up & slip the eggs in & she raised that clutch very well.. this was the one & only time I dared snap some quick pics..I wish my Pineapples would take to laying too

Well update Chantell got tired of wondering if all was alright in the nestbox..its been a while since we checked on everyone...she lifted one side of the hen & she didnt attack her at all, but shifted her weight enough for her to see one darling fuzzy chick! she has several eggs still, which I am sure the first 4 or so are more than likely unfertilized. she is hoping this chick is ok because its HERS! she already layed the law down for her mum! ha! I am such a sucker, but that Hen loves her & I so much its hysterical..she would have to be a calm hen to allow chantell to nudge her off without a fuss, she was gentle dont get me wrong! we just couldnt continue to worry about her, she is the tightest sitting bird! shes worse than any cockatiel I have ever had!! lol I will get pics up just as soon as I can..
