Kiwi, in the last few months, has taken up licking the bars to her cage. She has a mineral block, cuttlefish and grit which I see her using often so I'm confused as to why she still licks her cage so much.... any ideas anyone?

Pierre sometimes does that too. I always wondered if he could taste where I'd poked bits of fruit through the bars?? He seems healthy enough though, I guess he just enjoys it - he is a bit weird!!

Scruff - one of my Rosella's - does that all the time. I was worried about it so asked a breeder friend. He said they do it to get any moisture off the bars. Odd birds we've got!

if it happens to be near the food dishes, often the bars get sticky when the food get flicks around.
