AWWW!! They're so weeny!! Will Mrs Whistler be bringing them up herself or are they going to be handreared? Is it possible to handrear bourkes?? I'd love a tame one (they're pink, who wouldn't! LOL!).
Congratulations Mrs Whistler!! ;D

No, her and her husbird will be raising them. I don't handraise unless I have to. I've spoken to someone who handraised one and she told me the little girl ruled the house and was very loving. Someone else, think on The Perch? has a couple tame ones and when they lay eggs take to attacking their feet and she said they've got to be careful where they walk. LMAO!

Aww, bless! I'd love a tame one. They're such pretty little birds. I used to have a rosa bourke and a normal bourke but a rat got in the avairy and killed them! I wasn't impressed. I got my friend round with her ferrets and needless to say, we didn't have any rat problems for a while after that ;D I'd love to get some more though. They're hard to find down on the island. There's a pet store that I found with a pair or the pinky/yellow ones for £289! I figured that was a bit overpriced. It's well out of my price range anyway. I'll keep looking though! And I'm already looking forward to updates on Mrs Whistlers babies!

Deb, I know Riverside always have them!! ;D I'm planning a trip there once the new shed's up! (can't wait a minute longer!!!) My "hit list" so far consists of bourkes, kakarikis and splendid parakeets.. and it keeps growing! LOL! Best wait until I have the new shed though as I'm having serious space issues at the moment!

3 babies as of Saturday! I've had no time to post pictures. Final egg might/might not hatch - the other egg was dried up. It's usually dark when I get home after work so no pics until the weekend, unless i get home early.

Got home from work early tonight (car troubles again!) and took a lovely shot of the 3 bubs. Last egg is infertile. They are starting to test their voices too, after about 3 minutes they started complaining loudly so I put them back in their box.

They sure are getting bigger now, the 2 biggest are starting to get their pink feathers. Mrs Whistler laid a new egg too so maybe a second lot of bubs?
