Hope I've posted in the right place! My daughter has a beautiful Indian Ringneck, he's a year old now and she wants a friend for him. She was advised to get a Senegal, will they get on with each other?

How cute....just look at that lovely face! I would caution you on a Senegal or any other big bird as a companion for the Ringneck. Even though Senegals are mostly calm birds (and mine is very calm except for moments when he goes totally nuts and acts like he has seen a ghost-a Senegal trait ) they can and have killed other birds that they came in close contact with. It is a toss-up as to whether they would get along or not....especially if they have not grown up together. Now if you just kept them each in their own cage and allow no physical contact that would work. You could also give them supervised play time but you would always have to be on guard for aggression and or jealousy as Senegals usually become one person birds and can see other birds as compitetion. Hope this helps some.
