Just thought I'd take the oppertunity to show off my rabbits whilst I'm on here!!
Firstly, this is Thistle. He's a continental giant rabbit. When he last went to the vet he was only four months old so still had two months growing to do. The vet weighed him and said he weighed more than most small breeds of dog so I dread to think what he weighs now! To give you an idea of his size,in the first photo he's eating out of a dog bowl and in the second photo, he's sleeping in a dog carry box!!
I also have Marge. She came from the RSPCA and is massively grumpy. She hates everyone! But I still love her, she's a real character and her bad moods amuse me no end!!
This next bunny is Jess. She's a fat old thing but she's very friendly and she's so pretty.
Then there's Pharrell, my little gangster rabbit! He's tiny but he's not scared of anything. He didn't even flinch when Thistle jumped in his hutch practically on top of him!
Barley is a longhaired blue/grey dwarf rabbit. He's absolutely bonkers and is forever running into things. He can be a little grumpy at times but most of the time he's a little sweetheart and he loves cuddles.
Finally, I have Daphne, a black lionhead rabbit. She's my best friend if I have something tasty in my hand but otherwise she couldn't give a hoot about me! Like most bunnies really!
And thats all of them :-D
Oh, and I just thought I'd add... for as long as I've had an avairy, I've always let a rabbit out in the bottom of it. The birds take a few hours to get used to them but then they're fine! My quails would often even snuggle up next to the rabbit at night time to keep warm. Maybe if you have a rabbit you could try this? My birds got quite upset if I took the bunny back out again in the end. I think they liked them being there because rabbits can spot danger and it alerted the birds so they could hide. The rabbits were also very happy as they had loads of room to run around and do rabbit stuff. Both pictures of Pharrell are of him in the avairy and Marge is in there in the picture of her digging (another pro for the birds, they'd stand behind her and wait for her to dig up a worm!!).
