Well the name was chosen by my sister when she first got him about 5 years ago now, he was 8 months when she got him (apparently), he is currently kept indoors, in my bedroom's walk-in wardrobe, atleast hes not cornered in by loads of stuff as it was empty before. hes got a lot of light as i keep the door open for him and his cage is now full of toys and treats and food for him, his sand is always refilled and hes loving it by the looks of him.
lastly hes getting used to being handled and i think that in a mont h or so hell be staying with me alot, he seems to love being tickled on his head.
o and does anyone know how often they malt?

thanks for the links, hes settling in very well still and comes out of the cage like lightening now. and he always seems to run to the bird cage first, than just runs about exploring and climbing, hes such a fluff ball.

Wow, what a cool looking little fella. I didn't know what a chinchilla was so googled it. They seem like a really nice little pet. Shame we don't have them here.
