Hello everyone! I know I haven't been on here for ***ages*** and most people won't even know who I am lol - though some may know me from other forums. I no longer have any birds myself as am now married and have moved out from mum and dad's - they have the budgies. Due I think mostly to bad breeding they've had a bad run with their birds - they've lost two unexpectedly and quickly and far too young. Recently they've lost another bird - Lil - she was far too young. This leaves Phil alone. So far he seems ok but they are seeking advice as to getting another bird. Am I right in thinking that a male would be better than a female? Lil was a bit of a bully to Phil - Phil doted on her and never seemed to mind too much though! Also; if anyone knows of a good breeder or a budgie seeking a good home in Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire (near Mansfield / Chesterfield) I would be interested. They were thinking of going back to the breeder they had them from before but I don't like this breeder and the losses they've suffered should not have happened. We've kept birds for years and most have lived long, happy lives. The cage is nice and big - about 1m x 1m - an indoor aviary type cage and mum and dad look after their birds well. They're not so good at cage furnishing so I go over and rearrange toys etc. every now and then lol. Any info. much appreciated! Thanks!
