Sorry to pop in at the tail end of the tale... That is an amazing story! And I'm very glad they're doing well. What a great experience.

if you do go to the meeting and find out whose they are, you could always ask if they are selling any #wink#

Oh, and I just have to add this because it's funny.... After mum picked up the first one, the second one apparently flew onto a gate so my dad decided to try to "catch" it. My dad HATES animals. He really does! Which only makes it funnier... he walked towards the gate with his finger out saying "come on mr canary, up you get". As if it would just hop onto his finger! Hehe! I'm very proud of him for trying though! Mum said "mr canary" did not look too impressed! Haha!! aww bless ya dad for trying thats really nice of him even if Mr Canary wasnt impressed. My hubby wasnt a bird fan, but didnt mind me having an aviary becuase they wouldnt be flying around his head, but after a while he would go up and watch them and then even went in with him, now he quite happily holds them and stays sitting when they fly around the room

Just thought I'd let you all know, I found their owner, it was the house where no one answered the door! I left a note on his door this morning and he rang earlier. He seemed very pleased to have them back which is great. I'm sure going to miss those little guys though! Think I may be off to the pet shops again first thing tomorrow!! One last picture! Bye bye little canarys, thankyou for visiting!!

I did, he was an old fella though, I got the impression that he couldn't really hear what I was saying and was just nodding anyway!! I was knocking on his door for a good ten minutes. Defo a bit on the deaf side! I should think I'll bump into him again at some point in the future as he only lives down the road. Hopefully he'll realise and offer to breed me a couple! Fingers crossed!

I hope you can get a couple of cute darlings like them someday. Well done on keeping up looking for their owner. He probably missed them - he must have spent lots of time with them for them to be that tame.

I bought some new canarys on friday! I missed them so much... I had to get some more... and some waxbills... and some zebra finches.... and almost some parsons finches but I ran out of money!! Anyway, the new canarys are very cute! They're a lot smaller but they're still very pretty.

Well, I must say you did compensate... Glad you were able to get them back to their home, even though you'll miss them. Zebras hmm... I don't suppose you'd mind posting some pictures? Pretty please with sugar on top?

I've taken some pictures of the new birds actually but the program I use to get them from the camera keeps crashing! The zebra finches are cute! I bought them because I noticed the hen was a pied one and I love the pied ones! And then I noticed she only had one foot (happy and healthy though) and I just fell in love with her! Of course, I had to buy her husband too. He's just a regular normal grey zebby. I already had two male zebra finches so I could of done without the new one really but I couldn't leave him on his own! They squabled for half an hour or so but they're fine now. I have a couple of pictures of my older zebs... This is Barry and his hecks finch friends, he came from a show bird breeder and has the hugest cheek patches! When he moulted last year, I had to give them a trim as they grew over his eyes! And the zebby in this picture is Jonny, a little black cheek. He managed to snap his beak at some point but it doesn't bother him, he's only lost the tip.

Nice find. Do you still have them? I have never heard or seen a green canary before. Wish that happened to me when I was looking for peach face lovebirds
