The lovebird will bite the feet of the budgie if housed together. It is highly unadvisable to house them together. Even if they were both handraised together it would still be iffy. For the safety of your budgie I would not attempt to house them together.

aww so far so good. Nature has a way of sorting itself out, i have a budgie that cant fly, and he had a Kakariki mate for a long time. I house them together, and my budgie Graham followed the Kak everywhere. When Lennie hit the hormones , i noticed he was getting a bit dominant, and in time i decided it best to have them not be caged together. Nothing serious ever happened, but during the day while im at work, i felt it was silly to trust Lennie, just in case. They were still playing together for ages, while i was around. Graham now, will climb onto the avairy outdoors now, to see his buddy. Graham has a new hen-friend and they seem to like each other, alot more recently, as Graham has started to get a bit frisky with her. Spring is in the air your Budgie has some striking colouring and markings, hes lovely

Thank you, I think i plan the house them separate. PEKA stuck out from all other Budgies when we brought him home. I am very happy with him, just wish he would be just a bit more friendlier. I am thinking of selling the current bird cage that I just got ($50.00) and try to get something exactly the same as PEKA's. I absolutely love the cage I got for Peka. Karen

here is Harry, when i let the indoor budgies out for a fly around, and they land on Harrys cage, he dives straight for their feet, when the budgies were young chicks they werent used to him and used to cry then run around the top of the cage, (if i couldnt shoo them off it before he got to them) but now they are older and wiser, they either peck back at him, and he knows their not gonna stand for it and leaves them or soemtimes they feed him through the bars, (only way i can get him to eat apple lol)
