Thats fantastic Blaine. I think not taking him out of the cage during cleaning has made all the difference and your patience and perseverence of course.

Another cage cleaning passed by yesterday. It went perfect! Juniper flapped around only twice. That was when I took the bottom tray out and put it back in. He hates when I do that.

Woo hoo!!! Another 2 cleaning knocked out! Just finished one about an hour ago. he only got disturbed from his perch once. Of course it was when the tray went in. He let me put my hand at the back of the cage to clean the bars when he was up front. It's a first, he never lets me do that! Juniper is doing pretty well with the training. I came up with a training method to help him get up on to my finger. I put the millet (is millet pronounced mill-a or mill-it? I always thought it was mill-a, like with a silent t, but I herd a lady at Petco say it mill-it) on my index finger and hold it down with my thumb. He has to put a foot on my finger if he wants the millet. So far he's tried putting one foot on, but got scared and stopped. I still think it's good that he tried though. it means he's less afraid of me! I had to test that emoticon out. XD

It's amazing!! Simply amazing!! I let Juniper out of his cage today. He was coming up by the door like he wanted to come out. I sat really still and eventually he hoped out onto the floor. He moved around the floor a bit, stretched his wings, and pecked at the floor. He eventually made his way over to me. He sat there by me for about 5 minutes, then decided to jump up on me! I was amazed! I sat really still, and waited for him to move. He pecked at my leg some, then moved around. He decided to jump on my other leg! He sat there a few minutes. I decided to hold my finger out to him to see if he would jump up. It took a few minutes, but he decided to fly up to my finger! I gently moved my finger around. He stayed for about a minute. He then flew down to my leg and looked like he wanted to go back into the cage, so I moved my finger towards the cage and he went in!
It was amazing! I've never had a bird move around on my leg or perch on my finger before!! By the way, tomorrow i'm going to the pet store. #norty#

That is excellent Blaine! He's really doing well. Petstores are dangerous places Blaine! Quite often people come out with another bird instead of supplies!

I resisted buying another bird. Well, it was mainly my mom going on and on about how she would not let another bird in the house. lol. My mom hates birds. How could she! We went to the pet store to get my dog Maxx his nails clipped. I also found another water dish for Juniper. I might post pics soon. It's so hard looking at those cockatiels and conures and having to leave without them! The quaker parrot was so funny! it was trying to get a bell inside a ball. He even rolled over on his back to try to throw it at the top of the cage!
