Hi, does anyone else have a pair of tiels, and the female is the boss? My tiel, Jesse is always barging her way in to get a treat/veg. Jake often gets there to have a nibble and very soon along comes Jesse and he gets pushed out!! She is never far away when food is around! I do feel sorry for Jake but then shouldnt he stand up for himself to get his share? Or is he being a gentleman?

Hi Alexadra As usual my quote's are from a budgie point of view but my girls always get their own way. Whatever Kingfisher Blue wants she gets, if someone else is on the swing she just flies straight at them and they usually get off. Same thing with food too I get the feeling Harry's backing off and letting her get on with it has nouthing to do with manners, he just wants a quiet life and if he doesn't budge he usually gets a peck on the head. Female budgies seem to have a permanant PMT thing going on. I don't know why but they do tend to be grumpy. Love em

Hi, My male tiel was the boss in his situation, the female always backed down and moved away from the food or wherever the male wanted to go. She would let him know she wasn't happy about it, but she'd still give in. Though I found the same as Billie with budgies, I recently introduced a young female, to my two older males, and they have been kicked into shape, female budgie wins, hands down every time and she's a fair bit smaller than the boys!

Hi A11ycat
You're so right, Harry is the biggest budgie in the cage and the biggest wimp when pressed by the others.
Love my big softie though as he has a wonderful nature
