Hi all What a shock, My tiels have had 2 babies, I didn't even know they had eggs. Now the question is when can I rehome them away from the parents, they left the nest yesterday.

Are you going to handrear them John? If you are then yes would be a good idea to remove them away from the mum. But if you let the mum do the feeding than they should be allright where they are.
Cant wait to see some pics.

Congrats on the babies. How did you not know they had eggs lol?
Also, how old are the chicks? Are they fully featherd? Do you mean they have fledged from the nest? If so it's a bit late to hand rear them now. If they have fledged you can not remove them away from the parents just yet, they need to be able to fly, and eat by themselves still.

They have all thier feathers and are out of the nest and can fly, although being young they are a bit clumsy at the moment. The nest box she used was high in the aviery so I couldnt see inside. Up till now all the eggs they laid had come to nothing and they have had a lot of them so it was nothing unusual to see her disappear into the box for a day or two. They are coming on great and will sit on me for ages

I reckon tiels and budgies are pretty much the same in that I have removed budgies from their parents the first time I have seen them eating seed. I have removed budgies for pets that way rather successfully.
