I have recently bought my 4th budgie, in hope to get two breeding pairs...although I guess i'm no matchmaker as one couple don't seem to like eachother very much!
So my question is should I now buy a bigger cage and get two more? therefore increasing my chances of having at least two breeding pairs?
I have a seperate breeding cage at the moment, so I think that having a bigger holding cage might not be a bad idea anyway.
Any advise?

the new one i've not had long at all, less than a week.....but she doesn't seem to be interacting with her partner at all. Does this mean they'll never make a good couple? or does it mean she's just shy?

Give her more time. You can't just shove 2 birds together and expect them to fall in love straight away. It will take awhile & you really should house them alone away from the other 2 for them to bond. Also you should be quarantining her for at least 45 days (and treating with a psittacosis treatment) away from the others so that if she is carrying any diseases she doesn't pass it to them.

sorry i guess i didn't make myself clear...they are housed seperately from the other two. I guess i'll just give them some time and see what happens. of course i'm not expecting them to mate right away, i want to wait at least 6 months until giving them a nesting box. I was just hoping they'd show some signs of interaction at least

You probably won't see any interest for at least 2 weeks. All birds are different. I put my Boris in with a new mate & she was 'very interested' in him straight away but the boy wasn't interested in Boris at all for nearly a week. Today I put 2 birds together and they hit it off straight away. It helps that they were both housed in the aviary but they didn't 'hang' around together.
