For budgies, you should always have a basic parakeet seed mix available. You can get this at just about any pet store. I usually try to avoid mixes with a lot of the bright colored "treats" in them because they are fattening. Every other day or so, also give them well washed raw fruits and veggies. Lots of people feed different veggies, but my birds' favorites are romaine lettuce, orange in small bits, and broccoli. One thing they can't have is avocado. Budgies also need to have calcium for beaks and bones, so make sure they always have cuttlebone to nibble on. Nibbling on cuttlebone also helps keep the beak at the right length. You can get that at a pet store too, and they often have clips to attach it to the side of the cage. For occasional treats, don't give them human food. If you want to give them something special, give sections of spray millet (from the pet store as well ) but not everyday or everything, or it is too fattening and they will get bored of it. As far as I know, budgies don't eat nuts... I would think they probably wouldn't be that good for them. Hope this helps!
