Well today is the day i'm supposed to get the King parrot, but what's bothering me is that I only have $170 dollars, so the dude selling it made me a deal.
He takes the money AND my female princess parrot to lend to the next breeding season.
That'll be at least 3 months. ;-; What do I do?

Good grief! That must be one expensive Parrot! For that money I hope he's already trained it to talk, step up and other tricks. The most expensive I have ever seen a hand raised King go for was $140! & non handraised ones as little as $65. Personally I wouldn't - what if something happens to her? Will be replace her? What if she has to go to a vet? Will he take her? Will he pay? Can you ask your family for a loan? Or find one a bit cheaper?

The total is $320, It's worth it, they're the only place with the bird I'm looking for.
She's/He's a young one, hand tamed and very adorable. I've given him the $165, and pay the rest off on Saturday.

I sure hope you are very happy with your bird. For that money I could have gotten you a proven breeding pair who when they lay you could have handraised your own! That is way too expensive - sorry to say you are being ripped off in a big way! You should get 2 birds for that price. It really annoys me when people take advantage of others like that. It costs around $60 to get a bird shipped to your nearest airport from anywhere in Australia. I trust he is giving you a health guarantee and an avian vet check-up? All that should well and truly be included in that price.

this may seem a silly question, but are you from australia or overseas. Reason Im asking is we get them cheap over here usually, and overseas you tend to pay twice the price cause there a rear bird.

I believe she is in Tasmania which might explain the lack of breeders, although I do know of a few breeders down there I don't know what they breed. LOL ole Fred is down there but I can't remember if he bred Kings.

hehe some people leave a lasting impression even if you don't want them to! I saw a pair on Petlink the other day for $290. I also saw a 07 bred cock for $65 a few weeks ago, let me know if/when you are ready as I've got a contact who has dozens of contacts - I'm sure he'd be able to put you in touch with a breeder.
