Hi All
I may have asked this before but I would like to offer some treats to my budgies, as well as their seed the currently have; Broccoli, carrot occassional piece of apple/orange.
But what other vegies are safe for them? Is is safe to offer a piece of fruit/veg each day or should I only offer it on alternate days so they don't get the squits? I am in the UK so any non local vegies/plants are unlikely to be possible here.
Thanks
Billie xx

I know I used to feed Junie cucumber. I think zucchini is also budgie-friendly too. If corn is considered a veggie, than that too.

Pomegranate(spelling!) when you can get hold of them billie I feed the small mix frozen veg, when i run out of fresh.(peas, carrots, and sweetcorn.) You can buy fruit cocktail, or tangerines, in grape juice, which has a long shelf life. The indoor birds, get something everyday, the avairy birds, always have an apple or two on the go, my little Kak, Sugar, cannot go without her apples ;D
To be honest, i find it just as cheap to buy a ready fresh fruit cocktail sometimes, it lasts about 3 days.
The avairy birds ike purple sprouting, but when i have not weeded, a huge milk thistle soon gets eaten. All the budgies love dandilion leaves. They like grapes, but you need to chop them up quite small.Baby sweetcorn, or a whole corn.
dont worry about the squits, it comes and goes somedays, depending whats been fed.

Well they turned their beaks up at the celery, but Harry tried some but the best the other's did was to lick it, not bite into it. Fussy lot Billie
