Hi everyone! Its been a bit since i've been on and given you all an update. Conure Crazy is keeping me busy and i've been slacking!
Well, I bred the Parrotlets. This was my first time and I was pleased with how smoothly it went. They had 5 eggs, 1 was clear, 1 cracked and even though I tried to fix it, nothing happened with it. 1 egg looked to be fertile but i think died. But the other 2 hatched and were great. I hand feed them at about 2-3 weeks. This was also my first time handfeeding! They came to work with me each day in their incubator and later their cage. They only needed their noon feeding at work. One was a boy "Thor" and "Athena" the hen... she has since been renamed to "Baby Boo". Thor went to his new home about 3 weeks ago and Baby Boo is all mine!
Coco & Sheila the green cheeks mated and had eggs but they were all clear. I think coco is too old now (he's about 17) I wasnt expecting them to be fertile but it would have been cool it they were! I had to move cages, Kermit the blue crowned was next to them but they have had a few fights causing a bit of injury so they are now a good foot apart. I will be moving some furniture around this weekend and putting him on the other side of the room. I'm still waiting for his FSL to arrive, they were sharing one before.
The budgie that I had to pull from the aviary because he was "mating" the quail has now fallen for Rosey the bourke. I'm not sure he know's he's a budgie! He's been confused ever since his brother died a year or so ago! LOL The turquoisenes are trying to breed, well at least he is... he's been plucking her wings pretty badly, and I have no plans to breed them so I put her in the aviary. She's doing well with the budgies and I'm thinking of putting the bourkes in there too. I'll have to do it on the weekend though incase there is any fighting I am there to pull them out.
Max our doggie is still fighting his kidney problems, but he's hanging in there. He'll be 13 next month. Walking is getting a bit harder and he's having a harder time walking
Thats about it though Hope everyone is doing well!!!
