Hello everyone, I am in VA. I currently own 7 budgies, 2 females and 5 males. They care Passion and Pocahontas (females), Jasper, Loverboy, Blueboy, Resurrection and Flaming Arrow (males). Resurrection and Flaming Arrow are Passion and Blueboy's sons. I currently don't have any photos on this computer, but as soon as I take some I will upload them.
It has been a while since I have done any research on safe veggies for budgies because mine are so dang picky and will usually only eat their reg. diet. But my grandfather gave me some green bell peppers and I was wondering if they are safe to give to budgies once they have been cleaned up? Hope to hear from someone soon.
Not only do I have the 7 budgies, but my husband also has a double yellow headed amazon parrot, so there is plenty of bird noise around the house. lol

Welcome to Bird Crazy budgiecrazy!! Looks like I finally have someone on here from my neck of the woods Your birds all sound adorable! LOVE there names too! I dont own Budgies & I know theres lots on here that do though & they will gladly answer you much more accurately!! I on the other hand have conures, rosie bourkes parakeets, cockatiels & Lovebirds & all mine LOVE bell peppers..all colors, I usually aim for the reds, orange, yellow as those are my birds faves..I think because they are sweeter lol..I still add the greens though, I mix up a birdie salad everyday & they get a scoop in a dish , along with fresh fruits, mainly apples lol as those are faves, but I also buy occasionally dried fruits but try to limit those because of the high sugar contents..also try the garden greens from the grocery..they love those, I wash those up & put in a salad crisper!! its sometimes hard to get your birds to eat the good stuff, but for the most part if you offer it lol eventually they will taste, they just wont let you see them..I just make sure I see what all mine are eating & not eating & make notes of what they are eating well..allmine love soaked 15 bean soup w/o the seasonings of course ;D & slow cooked till done..all of them, they go nutso for them..just not raw..well this is best I can do for you, as you have other birds yourself, alot of what I said I am sure you already knew...hope some of it helped!! again I am very excited & happy your here neighbor!!

G'day and Welcome to Bird Crazy! Pretty much all parrots will eat what other parrots do. If Lauries Rosa Bourke's eat bell peppers (sorry don't know these) then budgies will too. Most of my budgies will only eat carrot, celery and corn (call them the 3C birds ) I offer them many many more veggies but they stick to their favourite mainly. My parrots will try most things I give them.

Hi there and welcome to the forum.
My budgies will eat green peppers, but i cant say they are very keen on them. They need to be really chopped small, for mine to eat them.
enjoy the boards ;D

Welcome to the boards! I love your budgie's names, you are much more creative than me. ;D Bell peppers are safe, but my budgies won't touch them at all. If they will eat them, wonderful, but those silly little birds seem to be picky eaters in general, especially if they weren't rasied eating veggies. I'm still working with my flock. Good luck with yours, that link that Kiwi posted is a good read. Welcome again!

Gosh how I dislike the word Parakeet, even worse when you see some Aussie's starting to use it.
