Most of you know i adopted Ziggy early this year, and im not that experienced with bigger parrots (well tiny as she is, she thinks shes huge!) Today she was being such a little love bug, that i toweled her and managed to clip the ends of her nails, and she was so good. She looks so sweet wrapped up. Then i was sitting down, she came up the front of my jumper, and put her head down for a tickle. Well we ended up having our very first big cuddle at long last. She whispered tickle and then i had tears in my eyes, she was so so sweet. I held her for ages , and it was such a wonderful moment. before this, we have tickles and strokes for ages, but its always on a perch or my leg. Last couple of weeks shes been cuddling in to me on my shoulder, but this today was just the best

What a tender moment you were able to share with your Ziggy.... They sure do know how to capture our hearts when we least expect it! My Senegal has learned the word "Night-Night" and has been saying it now when it starts getting dark. It is so funny to her him saying night-night while we are eating supper. I know he is ready for bed and I find myself hurrying to get done with supper to take care of him. He sure knows how to push my buttons. :

We have a little of that too with Ziggy. Shes such a good girl and often takes herself to bed. We get a few 'goodbyes' before she settles in her tube. Then she loves the echo of her voice in the tube, so she babbles allsorts to herself for a while before she falls alseep.

Scully.....you have peaked my curiosity....what kind of "tube" does Ziggy sleep in?....do you have a picture....I would love to see the tube! My Senegal has a night cage in a separate bedroom so he has to wait for me to take him there...and that is when he starts saying night-night. He reaches up for his "nose kiss" ( I touch my nose to his beak) everynight and that's when I say night night...sleep tight...don't let the bedbugs bite. I am pretty amazed at his vocabulary...he has learned several words and phrases already. Like the other day when I came out of the bathroom...he clearly says.."Hey Baby...Watcha Doing?" I will have to be careful what I say around him I guess...haha!

Its just a large cardboard tube, i hung in her cage to play with. She loves tunnels and tubes, ill post some pics in a min. Her cardboard one she sleeps in, even though she does have a cosy tent, she still prefers her cardboard one. She has a box too, but she just plays in that, and boy does she make some funny noises when shes in it. Its got shredded paper, and timothy hay, and herbs. Also she will find a treat or two if she rummages around. This is the sleep tube, that i hung up These are a couple she plays in when shes out of her cage

What a special time! It doesn' t really matter what species are involved... when they cuddle up you forgive anything and love them with all your heart. Wonderful moments! Soppy alert... lol! But it's true!
