I mentioned in another post that I am considering welcoming a Parrotlet into our family. My husband made the cage we intend to use for him or her out of Mahogonay. The front is enclosed with the same material we use in our Budgie/Finch aviary which is metal window screen. It seems to work fine for the little guys but Im beginning to wonder if it will contain the little parrotlet when he's in there for the night.
If we dont use that the only other option is chicken wire with 1/2 inch openings. We didnt use this on our other aviary as we were unable to find non-galvanized stuff. Lots of other forums told me the galvanization would kill or harm the little guys but do you suppose it would be alright for a Pacific Parrotlet?
Is there anyone else who has a homemade cage, and if so what materials did you use? Pictures?

Hi Tricia I totally agree with all these people. Like everyone else has said, she doesnt deserve to die, but she has darned it up for herself. Like it has already been said, no one made her do this, she did it to herself!! And how the hell is she going to pay back the $250,000?!? especially on a Centrelink allowance! I think there are more deserving people on the waiting list that are either parents that have kids, singles or the youth of today that havent abused their liver with drugs and alcohol. These are the people that need our help. Im not too much of an "American" fan, but i do think that we should embrase their ways where recovering alcoholics and addicts arent allowed on the donar list for 'x' amount of time!Tricia I totally agree with all these people.
