Hi everybody,
I'v been looking around your forums here today & they seem like a nice friendly place. Err... Guess I should say a little about myself here... I don't have any birds at the moment but am currently looking into it again. I have kept 2 Budgies, some Zebra Finches (or beep beep birds as I called them at the time) & a Cockatiel when I was younger.
The bird I am hopeing to get is a Corvid (a Crow to be specific), I have been told there are breeders out there but have been unable to find any yet. So I have really come here to find out as much information on keeping a Corvid as I can & to hopefully find a breeder.

Hi and welcome to the Birdcrazy Forum. I hope you enjoy the Forum. Well for once I am a little lost for words (Crows ) I have been a bird breeder for one or two years now and you would have to be the first person that I know that wants to know about crows. Interesting. As I live in Australia the place is full of them. I look forward to hearing more about yourself and with your Hobbie. Oh silly me. I breed Australian Native parrots and a few other birds as well. I hope to catch up with you soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Yeah I know a Crow is an unusual type of bird to want as a pet, & this is becoming more & more apparent as it seems near impossible for me to find a breeder (in the UK). The species I want in the Carrion Crow (Corvus corone), they are seen wild all over the UK. As for why I would like one... Thats a little harder to explain, I have just always had a "thing" for Corvids (Esp Crows). Ever since I was a child there have only ever been two animals I have really wanted, a Snake & a Crow. Apparently I had a tantrum the first time I was told I wouldn't be able to have a Crow (was about 3 or 4). As a child the walls of my room were plastered in pictures I had drawn of Crows. I am incredibly fascinated by them, the look, the mythology behind them, everything. There are just so many reasons I want one it's hard to pin it down. I also know that if I do manage to find a breeder, that they are not really "cage" birds & that they need room to spread their wings & fly. Which is why I am already starting to "Bird-proof" my house so it will be free to roam around whatever room me or my girlfriend is in at the time & only spend time in it's cage when it can't supervised. Thanks for the link, theres a lot of useful information on there. I guess it could be considered "Goth" to own a Crow, although if you saw a picture of me you'd see I don't exactaly have the "Goth" look about me P.S. Yeah my sig is a quote from the first Crow movie/graphic novel, it's a line from some of Sellies poetry

Hope I didnt offend you saying you sounded goth? I love the whole goth scene so i didnt mean anything horrible. Once again good luck with your search

Thanks Sal, I'll contact those breeders later on today & see if they know anyone **crosses fingers & does the happy dance** No Telmadee you haven't offended me at all, I have a few friends who are Goths. Infact a few of my other friends often say I'm a goth in disguise, it just amuses me that I come across that way Cooper sounds like a cool little kid, I hope he gets a hedgehog one day
