I'm going to be replacing my birds' water dishes and buy some bottles because they're more sanitary. (good idea?) I'm looking at Lixit bottles but I'd love to hear some suggestions if anyone has some. Also, I'd like to know if anyone has had experience with the Thermo perch. I'm a little concerned that it would be a fire hazard. Don't want to do anything that might endanger my babies!

Ive changed over to water bottles. I use Sippys, as i feel they are easier for the budgies, although they do use the other ones anyway. Also i have the tube type, they all get along with them. I have found you do have to get the size of the tube right, so i have two different sizes. As for a thermal perch, i have not got a clue what that is but it sounds interesting.

I'm guessing from the word thermo it warms the birds feet.
Where is the perch sold? I'd like to see id it'd work for my future birdies.

I have Lix water bottles in the aviary, and also with the other birds. The aviary bird have used them for a few years now, but the p'lets and keets for about 1/2 year i guess. I tried with the green cheeks a few months back ( i had tried before with no luck) and they are doing much better with the bottles now. The only one without a bottle is the newbie Kermit

Thanks for your replies! The thermo perch can be bought at www.drsfostersmith.comI purchased two lixit bottles for my birds and my parakeet really likes his! I've only seen my cockatiel drink out of his twice, so I gave him his old water dish back along with the lixit bottle. He really doesn't care for the bottle. :-\
