My mom thinks that the old budgie cage that housed some of our budgies is big enough for one tiel to be housed in. I don't think so, I think that we need to get a bigger one with new everything. What do you think, here is a couple of pictures of the cage in question: If you need some better pictures of it tomarrow and I'll try and get the dimensions of the cage. L x W x H

I agree, you definitely need a bigger cage.

A cage is considered big enough if the bird has to open it's wings to jump to another perch. That cage looks way too small for a tiel.

The cage in Question is 17.5L x 13W x 22.5H. Now that I know it is too small for a cockatiel how many budgies could that cage house comfortably??

Personally I would say only one.

I would keep the cage as a transport one only or a quarantine cage. One budgie at a pinch but let it out for plenty of exercise.

Like Julie & Avril said, only 1 but with plenty of out time. That is a similar size to Boris' cage but she spends more time out than in when we are at home.
