I have seen an amazing array of quality toys both wooden and acrylic available in sizes suitable for the larger parrot species, but has anyone seen comparable types in smaller sizes for budgies . I agree that the plastic ones have an advantage when it comes to cleaning but most of what I've seen around is of appalling quality. What I've seen so far is badly made, is full of sharp edges that have to be filled smooth before being safe to give to the birds, and the glue when used has run all over the toy. Given that birds have plenty of time to chew this and do, it really isn't well enough made . I have an elderly box of wooden beads called 'Toy Box' made by a company called Jungle Talk. I have the small version and these are budgie sized and can be used to make your own toys . After an on line search I found their website which is www.jungletalk.com/Index.htmbut I still haven't found a company selling the small version of the toys. Any suggestions, either companies suppling to the UK or of any other decent toys

I bought a mirror the other day for my Kaks, it was so flimsy, i had to put it in the budgie cage. I like all the natural toys and nibbly things. Although i still have not seen my Budgie car yet

I asked in the local garden center who had ordered my cage for me if they were able to order any of the Jungle Talk toys, and the very helpful lady looked through her catalogs and found all the toys from my wish list . They arrived in 4 days! Pets at Home have since reintroduced the toy boxes into their ranges but hadn't stocked the small ones. The box marked as suitable for small birds, that I have just got has substantially larger pieces than my old one (it was over 5 years old mind you!). The store also has increased its range of acrylic toys and has lots of Java wood toys too. Will post photos asap. Now I have a large enough cage installed one of the Java wood tree style perches that bolt onto the cage and they are lovin' it!!!!! The birds only go on the dowels if they get budged off the tree.
