Hello Everyone. Some of you will know that i bought a new budgie the other day, however, they both seemed to dislike each other. I have put them in seperate cages and have them next to each other so they can still see each other. Again now when i have them out of there cages they bite each others tail feathers and they pull quite hard and lastly when i have kiki (my allready tame budgie) out on her own so they dont fight she trys to get snowy through the cage bars. what should i do because it seems like ill have to give up snowy.

maybe try and get them out on there own for a while and see how they go. then gradually get them used to being out with eachother together bit by bit.

Don't know your cage set up,try seperating them so they can't beak at each other from the wire.. but sounds like they are just Budgies teasing each other, one is looking for dominance and the other playing....sooner or later more sooner the one biting/pulling.. will get his own and thing's will settle.. Jealousy is what Kiki is going throu so she is doing that with the bars...With the three of them, try spend equal time when outside the cage in a play room where others(budgie's)can't see ....

ok now i am really annoyed. it was only a few days ago that kiki wanted to be out with me all the time but since i have had snowy home kiki is not interested at all. what can i do as i love kiki but its apparently better to have more than one as otherwise they get too lonely. and so i dont know whether to get rid of snowy or not. please help as i am really upset that kiki has lost our friendship

Well I have dozens of budgies outside in the aviaries, but I have 1 inside budgie Boris. She can hear the others but loves to be with us - she is in her cage during the day near the other budgies but at night she comes inside & plays with us until her bedtime - 8pm. Probably if you can leave Snowy in a larger cage on your verandah & let Kiki visit for awile during the day then bring Kiki back inside for quality play time with you.

oh no thats a real shame! maybe u should keep trying for another week or so u never know they might get used to each other. also if u have to give up snowy i think kiki will get back to normal pretty quickly.
