aawwww we used to have a duck called "daffy" yes i know not very original but the children names him lol. they love soaked bread and nibbling at your flowers so some netting would be a good idea if you have a nice patch of garden hehe. My duck was a little disabled and it couldnt swim he shared my old greyhounds kennel with him at night and the rabbit was his bodyguard against foxes (rabbit was huge, old and mean and kept everything out my garden lol) if you start him now while he young you can train them to use a litter tray to save the mess - obviously depending on how you are housing him, but mine used to love to follow us around the house all day like a lost dog, best company ive ever had! i take it you have him in a little box/house at the mo? put in there the material you want him/her to use as a toilet stop and when it gets older it will get fussy and only poop on the same material it was used to as a chic handy tip a breeder told me when we bought ours home ;D

Hi Jess, welcome aboard!!!
Congratulations on your new baby! Tiels are so much fun! We have lots of tiel owners on here that can give you plenty of advice, I found thast mine prefer Apple more than any other fresh food, but they also like broccoli, carrot, radishes, bananas, plums off my plum tree in the summer and a wide variety of berries (depending on whats in season).
Has the shop given you any idea when you'll be able to take him/her home? Im so excited for you!!
