Its odd that you should ask this question, I was thinking the same thing earlier in the week. The budgies cage was covered so there wasn't much light, when I took the cover off and found Blue on the floor I immediately took her out, and out of the room. The curtains in the room were closed but there was some light in the room. I'm sure Tiny saw her, as when I went back in (without Blue) he was staring at the floor where she had been. like he hadn't moved! and it was about 10-20 minutes after I'd taken her out. I wondered if he'd seen her and was working it out in his head? The others were just jumpy but not statues like Tiny did. They are all fine now, like nouthing happened. I guess it is easier when there are a few of them in the flock, not like when its just a pair. I wonder what they do think Billie

Thanks Liz, it must have helped coz I'm feeling a bit better today.
Hi Sal
I couldn't afford a permanent memorial on the site, but will try and get up at 3am next tuesday to attend the candlelighting service.
You all know what its like, you just feel like you need to DO something. I can do the candle service another time here at a more sensible time and have the candle in the garden where she's burried. But the online thing next week will feel like her funeral service if that doesn't sound to crazy.
It's that helpless feeling that you wish there could be more to do for them and the pain in your heart when you call their name coz you forgot for a moment they wern't there.
Thank you for all your lovely messages of support you are all wonderful on here. I must get some pictures uploaded of the rest of the mad kids.
Love you all

They seem to have a need to have a wild flap straight after millet don't they. My gang should all be totally bald given how many feathers I hoover up twice a day.
Gotta love them though

Thanks Sal She seemed to have the same problem that took poor Taz. We had only had her since June 2006, but she was past first moult when we got her so no idea on how old she really was. Thanks for the hugs, I really need them just now Billie

If you want Riley to take a bath...try adding his favorite toy into the water (rubber duckie style) my budgies aren't keen on a bath but will at least investigate it if there is a toy in there Billie

Hi All I'm sorry to say that poor Kingfisher Blue died in the night. She had been wheezie for a while and when I came down this morning I found her at the bottom of the cage This was her I'm in pieces, she was always feisty and grumpy but in the end she did step on my finger and even allowed Harry to preen her. I miss you Blue, Billie

Dear Karen
I haven't been on for a while so I've only just found this post. I am so sorry for your loss, RIP Turbo she was just beautiful. It does feel like the worst pain when your feathered soul mate passes.
Sending you my deepest sympathy and hope that time is helping to heal the wounds. Please don't rush a decision for the rest of your flock. I have only re homed one bird and that was not my idea and have regretted it ever since.
Lots of hugs and moral support

Hi George
Only just found this and I expect you have named your bub by now, I tend to go for unisex names then if they change what you expected them to be you aren't 'stuffed'.
How about calling the last one 'Heinz' as in Heinze 57 since she is a bit of a mix of colours??
I'm sure you have already named her though.
Best wishes
Billie
