Ok I have a question here: Franklin had a purple cere when we brought him home and now it seems to be a whitish color. Here are some pics so you can see what I mean: This is when he first jopined the family. Here's one from about a week ago. Finally here is one from yesterday. So what do you think male or female? While I'm here do budgie pant? Because Frankie seems to always breathe heavy. With his beak open, and it looks like he is panting. He has done this since the first night we had him and has shown no problem with it and it doesn't bother him, I was just wondering.

Here is a video of him doing the panting. Its usually not that heavy but we were outside while he decided to do a few laps around the back porch and it is a rather warm humid day here in centeral florida. He doesn't seem to do it while he is in the cage much only when my mom and I are in fromt of him and/or if he is out among the other birds. I really hope he is ok. media.putfile.com/2006_0406Frankie0001

Harvey did that a couple of times Melissa, when i first bought him home. I thought he may have had a blocked cere or something, but it went away.

Thats good to know. He doesn't do it much, atleast less than when he came home. I think he gets nervous easy or something because it seems to happen when he is startled or something. I hope it goes away. What do you think sex wise, male or female.

Thanks everyone!!! Well, I have put Kiwi, yes I know it changed again, in my bedroom with me and only me. He has actually stopped. I think that he is just a very anxious, and easily stressed out birds. Over the last few days he has been doing great. I have supervised him with the other birds and he starts the breathing when they get in "his" space like he is nervous of them being near him. When he is out by him self he is doing great!! He still gets to be with the other but only for a supervised amount of time. Once his breathing starts to act up its time to go back to his cage so he can relax. I thought you would want an update.

Oh the poor little mite. I hope he gets over it. Can you take in your calmest budgie to try and get him used to other birds?
