Tobi's poop problem has come back. Her poops are again normal but are not dropping and gathering around her botty. So of course she is scratting again and making herself sore.
Im pretty sure its because she isnt getting enough fluid which is making them dry. So this morning her cage looks like a jungle as Ive put that much veg in, she has today carrot tops, carrots, apple, brocoli, parsley and spianch. Now that SHOULD make her have a looser poop if nothing else.
Any other suggestions?

try some lettice - its mainly water so isnt really nutritional but if its fluids you want to get into her it might help?

Thanks Sal, Ill try that, she is a seed freak and only likes to rip up veggies so the lettuce sounds a good idea.

There are quite a few suggestions on the net(just been having a look for you)but you seem to have covered most of them. They all seem to point to diet though.I did find this but don't know how useful it might be for you?

Hi Boomberry. Have you ever tried sprouted seed for Toby. Some of my older h/reared tiels are very fussy and don't like too many of the good stuff like veggies and fruit so I was told to try sprouted seeds or even just seeds that are starting to go soft like wheat, barley sunflower seeds, mung beans. At first they wouldn't eat it but I kept putting a small amount on top of their seeds and one day they just starting eating them. Not only does it supply better nutrition for them but it also contains water. Also celery is another good veggie high in water. Other trick to try to get birds to eat veggies is to wash the veggies first in water, give it a bit of a shake and then put it in the cage. I have often seen some of my budgies just rolling in it and playing with it but also nibbling it. Hope this helps. Cheers Anna

If you want her to have a really loose poop so it doesn't stick, give her some epsum salts in the water, that will give her diahorrea & also give her a clean out. That is the old timers cure all health solution before there was such a thing as avian vets. I don't recommend this for a regular thing, a vet is best but it does no harm as long as you don't over do it.

Are the droppings like popcorn? She could have a pancreas dysfunction.
